White Tail Deer 3D Archery Target Review:
Overview:
Introduction to the #BigShottargets White Tail Deer 3D Archery Target.
Size, shape, look all match up, the EZ Pull foam is fantastic.
Realism and Detail:
This target does come with antlers (I didn't have them with me for the video). Overall the look of the 3D target matches up with an alert deer, you are just missing the "snort wheez" before it takes off running on our platform.
Durability and Materials:
The EZ Pull foam is fantastic in this target. Arrows big or small diameter, slow or fast all pull out without much effort, while the target does a tremendous job of stopping the arrows on impact.
Knowing this target can also be used for broad head site in is a huge add on.
Shot Placement and Challenge:
With our moving target platform, you can angle the targets for both quartering to shots as well as quartering away and this target worked great for both. The target held up to the shots from all angles, the self healing foam worked fast and the scoring rings are right in line with where they should be.
Value and User Experience:
While I can't say this was the favorite target the times I took it out, it did receive a lot of arrows in the time it was on the moving platform. Out at 53 yards on the platform, it became a humbling experience for many shooters.
Conclusion:
A good add on to any range! The stability, look and feel, material and overall target make for good practice.
Walking Bear 3D Archery Target Review:
Overview:
This walking bear target from #bigshottargets is a great representation of a eastern US black bear.
Construction and Stability:
The three piece construction (Head, Body, Insert) works really well and this target is solid. I shoot a >480grain arrow moving over 280 FPS and with a shot from 32 yards never even moved this bear while on the end point pulled platform.
User Feedback and Impact:
The only negative comment I heard while having this target at the range was "It should have scoring rings on both sides to make it more usable", and I agree with that statement. This is a great target, having rings on both sides would extend the longevity and usability of it.
While this target was on the moving platform, both target shooters as well as bowhunters couldn't get enough of it. I had several folks tell me they only had time for one or two arrows and 30 arrows later they had their fun.
Conclusion:
A great target for the price, worthwhile to have at your range and pairs nicely with our endpoint pulled platform.
Grey Coyote 3D Archery Target Review:
Overview:
Backyard or 3D archery range, this grey coyote target brings a lot of opportunities to shoot. The small to mid size of it lends for close or long range shots and the multiple scoring rings on the body give it a lot of use and personality.
Anatomy and Realism:
Of the #bigshottargets that I have in my inventory, this grey coyote is the only one that has me wanting a little bit more. The semi smooth texture doesn't match up with what I would expect especially compared to some of their other targets, and the large scoring rings could be reduced in size for more realistic shot placements. That said, from head to tail, this target looks like a coyote.
Arrow Removal and Longevity:
While it is not called out on their website, pulling arrows from this target feel like it is also an EZ Pull foam material. Whether 5 feet or 50 yards, arrows are smooth to withdraw and the self healing foam fills in the gaps quickly.
Archery Community Feedback:
I had several folks mention they really liked the multiple scoring ring setups (broadside, frontal, top shot). This played well when I angle the target on the end point pulled platform.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for a small to mid size target with a smaller price point, this is definitely a target to look at. I think it has a huge ROI given the target.
BigFoot 3D Archery Target Review:
Overview:
From the #BigShotTargets website - "The Most Realistic and Affordable BIGfoot target for your backyard or Club! This creature is sure to create buzz with all your friends and works equally well in the backyard, the cabin or your local Archery Club." and they aren't kidding... Taking this target out had a lot of conversation around it, combine that with motion and archers couldn't get enough of it.
Size and Impact:
For being 50" tall, this target has deceptively small scoring rings and in a unique location makes it a fun and exciting challenge.
Design and Attention to Detail:
From the huge feet, to the aggressive look, this target is truly unique from head to toe.
#bigshottargets have designed a great target here. The look and feel matches with what I would think a BigFoot should be, and the size fits very well on our moving target platform.
Durable Construction:
While I have only had this target for a few months, it has weathered exceptionally well in Colorado's dry climate. The EZ Pull foam has not deteriorated in color or stiffness while in the high altitude direct sunlight.
At one point we had it on our endpoint pulled platform with 3 archers shooting at the same time, it was rock solid in stopping the arrows.
Conclusion:
Overall I think that #bigshottargets offer a lot of fun and value to any 3D archery range. The self healing foam used works well and shows very little wear and tear.
Worth every penny to bring into your target inventory.
